Kaspersky Internet Security Suite 2010, Internet Security Tool

The Kaspersky Internet Security Suite 2010 offers rock solid protection and includes a list of features that take system security to a whole new level. The applications protection is split into three major components, which consists of Files and Private Data, System and Applications and Online activity. Each component is further subdivided giving you a total of twelve diverse security features. This is helpful if there is a need to make changes to a particular given component, thereby allowing the user to make quick and define changes.

The all new redesigned interface is slick and easier to use when compared to their previous version. For example, the new Application Control allows the user to change access rights to a particular application without getting into the complexities of the program’s settings. The application control feature basically prevents particular programs from performing actions that might compromise the overall stability of the OS.

An additional feature included in the suite is the Safe Run mode. This mode allows you to run as well as install applications in a virtual protected environment that prevents any sort of alteration to the registry as well as thwarts any sort of modification to the Operating System. Bear in mind that simply adding applications to the Sandbox window will not run it in the Sandboxed mode. You will need to run the selected application from the ‘Safe Run Application’ window for it to run in a secure virtual environment.Sadly even with all the right ingredients, the Security Suite doesn’t quite impress with its insane 200 MB of memory consumption when running a scan. Apart from this little glitch the Security Suite performs well. CLICK to Download

GDATA Internet Security Suite 2010, Internet Security Suite

Running two antiviruses simultaneously on a single machine will not only bring it to a crawl, you might also end up crashing your system Well? Think again!!GData is the only security distributor that actually integrates two scan engines in one single package.

The GData antivirus kit includes the Kaspersky Antivirus as well as the Bitdefender engine, giving the user a double layered protection. While having an extra layer of security is not bad there is a negative aspect that shrouds this dual scan engine technology. The GData Security Suite consumes over 200 MB of memory when idle and sucks almost every bit of processor power when running a scan. With such high usage you can very well forget about running other tasks when a scan is being performed. Going by the test results reported by AV-Comparatives, the Security Suite also seems to have gained a high number of false positives. that both Kaspersky and Bitdefender have produced. On the other hand considering that the application runs two scan engines simultaneously the Security Suite doesn’t slow down the system when idle. Even though the user has the choice of selecting either one of the two engines, memory usage remains the same. It is recommended to select both for optimum performance as well as detection.

The firewall is decent and automatically selects the best setting for the application that needs access to the Internet. With Parental control you can set permissions where you can adjust the time frame to access the Internet to a particular user as well as block unwanted sites from being accessed.GData Internet Security Suite includes a neat set of features but doesn’t raise security standards when compared to other Suites despite having a dual scan engine.
